Fighting for California's student loan borrowers
Since 2019, more than 80 organizations have joined the Campaign for California Borrowers’ Rights to fight for student loan borrowers across the state. We passed the Student Loan Borrower Bill of Rights, prevented transcript withholding by California colleges, and stopped predatory debt collection in California courts.
But our work is not done yet.
Each year, more and more Californians take on debt to fund their education. Millions of Californians now struggle under these debts, whether they are loans from the federal government or a bank, or debts owed directly to a school.
Too often these debts result in deferred dreams, lost savings, and limited opportunities. The Campaign for California Borrowers’ Rights is working with federal, state, and local policymakers to fight for the rights of California borrowers.
